MYLINGS

Mylings explores the religious and misogynistic prosecution of women's rights, specifically rights related to pregnancy and abortion. Religion has always tried to control the sexual rights of the population.

The music video follows a mother who has lost all hope and has performed a self-induced abortion. She takes the still fetus into the wilderness and performs a hasty burial. The song follows the same story from the perspective of a ghostly narrator, who can see the countless women suffering as a result of the sexist legislation. He guides the spirits of the unborn children to safety, using the love that was stolen by God.

The final fate of both her and her child remains unknown.

Verse 1
Into the woods of death, I shall pray
Beyond the paths of life is my gain
Through the moral portals, I venture
To rest abandoned souls from winter

Depressed their source disposed of in secret
Depressed their solution ended nothing
Freezing their pups in cold December
Revoking their rights in bastard lifehood

Chorus
Frightened, distressed, disturbed
Murder they sung
Searching, finding, killing
This place is death
Mylings, singing, howling
Killed before life
Babies, screeching, clawing
Frozen in time

Verse 2
And thus the Mylings came out in force
When their distressed mothers retreat remorse
Their ambitious lies shall be forever sung
By their unburied children who lust for their blood

So on with my cloak to the forests, I go
To find these creatures and rest their souls
Equipped with the love their God always stole
I patrol these woods in search of a soul

Chorus (x2)
Frightened, distressed, disturbed
Murder they sung
Searching, finding, killing
this place is death
Mylings, singing, howling
Killed before life
Babies, screeching, clawing
Frozen in time
